There Is No One Way

Posted by admin on 19th January 2009

Some people are so focused on finding the “absolute best” way to train for size and strength, that they loose site of the basics and don’t get into the gym and train hard. There is so much information available (some good, some not so good) that information overload sets in and either nothing gets accomplished or programs get so complicated (from combining elements from a variety of programs) that they become unmanageable.

My suggestion is that you either get a trainer to design a program for you or choose one program from a respected source, for example Chad Waterbury or Alwyn Cosgrove, and commit to that program. Work hard and grow.

Motivational Quotes

Here is a great quote from Lance Armstrong.

Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit however, it lasts forever. That surrender, even the smallest act of giving up, stays with me. So when I feel like quitting, I ask myself, which would I rather live with? Facing up to that question, and finding a way to go on, is the real reward, better than any trophy

Working The Heavy Bag

Posted by admin on 8th December 2008

I think that doing rounds on the heavy bag is a great training method for developing and learning how to apply your power and it’s also a serious energy system workout. You can use the bag like a boxer or a kickboxer. If you’re after an energy system workout, I prefer kicking the bag because of the amount of muscle used. As always, if you haven’t used a heavy bag before, get some training and start slowly. The power and speed will develop over time. Have fun!!!
