The Supplements I Use

Posted by admin on 25th April 2008

There are a number of supplements that I use that I believe are must haves if you want to put on muscle and get stronger. Currently these are the supplements in my kitchen.

  • Protein Powder – I have three different powders in my kitchen. One that I use for meal replacements, one for my workout drink and and another for post training.
  • Creatine – I use 5 grams in my workout drink.
  • Multi-purpose vitamin and mineral tablet – one a day as dietary insurance.
  • Fish Oil

There are hundreds of other options available but these are a great place to start. If you want a great deal on supplements, check out BodyBuilding.com

Post Training Nutrition

Posted by admin on 12th February 2008

After your workout you have an opportunity to reduce the muscle damaging strain that your workout puts on your body and to help maximise your gains. Ideally immediately after your workout, you should take in adequate amounts of quickly absorbed carbohydrate and protein. This is the perfect time for a sports drink with some added protein.

Training Logs

Posted by admin on 10th January 2008

Do you keep a training log? If not,why not? A training log or diary is very useful tool that you can use to help you reach your goals of gaining size and strength.

As well as helping you keep track of your progress in relation to weights used and exercise difficulty, a training log can help you analyse what training and eating patterns gave you the best and worst results in the past. It can also help you determine if you need a training break and the effectiveness of different supplements on your training.

So get a log and start using it.
