Some Thoughts on Workout Nutrition
Posted by admin on June 7th, 2009
Workout nutrition is an important element in your program to get big and strong. Here are a few thoughts on how to implement this part of your nutrition program.
- If size and strength are your goals, you should try ingesting a protein and carb drink before your workout.
- Another option that has worked really well for me is sipping a protein, carb and creatine drink during your workout. If you are going to try this approach, I suggest that you use a protein powder that disolves clear into water not one that is milkshake like. Unfortunately the brand that I used in Japan (SAVAS Aqua) is not available here in Australia, so I can’t make any suggestions on brands yet.
- It is also recommended that you feed as soon as possible after your workout. Having a protein shake as you are walking out the gym is a good way to feed the body until you can sit down for a more substantial meal.
Whether you are implementing a pre-workout, during workout or post workout nutriton scheme, this is a good time to ingest some quality protein and carbs to really give your body the nutrients it needs to grow.
