IFFB Implements Random Drug Testing

Whether you consider the use of anabolic steroids to be be “cheating” or not, it is now illegal in many countries and in most if not all sporting organisations. Bodybuilding has garnered more than it’s fair share of poor publicity due to it’s “our athletes don’t take illegal drugs” attitude and the lack of drug testing except in the drug free organisations. The IFFB has long had an antidoping policy that includes random drug testing. According to a post at Inside Bodybuilding, the IFBB is now implementing it’s random drug testing procedures. Random drug tests are a standard in most sports, so this can be considered to be a positive step in promoting the sports image.
